Comparison between gel battery and lead-acid battery
1. Battery life varies.
Lead acid battery: 4-5 years
Colloid battery is generally 12 years.
2. The battery is used in different environments.
Generally, the working temperature of lead-acid battery shall not exceed - 3 ℃
The gel battery can work at minus 30 ℃.
3. Battery safety
Lead acid battery has acid creeping phenomenon, which will explode if it is not properly managed. Colloid battery has no acid creeping phenomenon, which will not explode.
4. The specifications and types of lead-acid batteries are less than those of gel batteries
Specifications of lead-acid battery: 24AH, 30AH, 40AH, 65AH, 100AH, 200, etc;
Colloid battery specifications: from 5.5Ah, 8.5Ah, 12Ah, 20Ah, 32Ah, 50Ah, 65Ah, 85Ah, 90Ah, 100Ah, 120Ah, 165Ah, 180Ah, 12 specifications, can meet most of the needs. Be on guard that the battery capacity caused by the small specification is larger than the actual demand, and the battery plate will be damaged due to small current discharge.
5. Electrolyte adsorption technology:
Colloid adsorption technology is adopted for colloid battery:
(1) The interior is gel electrolyte without free electrolyte.
(2) The electrolyte has about 20% residual weight, so it is still extremely reliable when operating at high temperature or overcharging, and the battery will not "dry". The battery has a wide range of high and low temperatures.
(3) The concentration of colloidal electrolyte is consistent from top to bottom, and acid stratification will not occur. Therefore, the reaction is average. Under the condition of high rate discharge, the electrode plate will not be deformed to cause internal short circuit.
(4) The specific gravity of acid solution is low (1.24), and the corrosion to the electrode plate itself is relatively low
The lead-acid battery adopts glass wool adsorption technology:
(1) The acid solution is absorbed in the glass carpet, and a large amount of free electrolyte exists. It is likely to leak under strong charging.
(2) The weight ratio of electrolyte is less than 20% (lean acid state), so the reliability is low when operating at high temperature or overcharging, and the battery will be "dried".
(3) Due to the deposition of liquid electrolyte, the upper and lower concentrations have differential conductivity (acid stratification, which is irreversible), so the reaction is uneven, which leads to deformation of the electrode plate, even breakdown of the plate electrode, and internal short circuit.
(4) The specific gravity of acid solution is high (1.33), and the corrosion to the electrode plate is relatively large
6. Comparison of positive electrodes between gel battery and lead-acid battery
The positive plate of gel battery is made of high-quality cake free alloy, and the self discharge rate is extremely low. The self discharge rate of the battery is less than 0.05% every day at 20 ℃. After two years of storage, it still maintains 50% of its original capacity.
The general lead calcium alloy plate of lead-acid battery has high self discharge rate. Under the same conditions, it is necessary to renew the battery after it is stored for about 6 months. If the storage time is prolonged, the battery will face the possibility of damage.
7. Comparison of protection between gel battery and lead-acid battery

The gel battery has a deep discharge protection mechanism, and the battery can still be connected to the load after deep discharge. Charging within four weeks will not damage the performance of the battery. The nominal capacity of the battery can be recovered quickly after charging, and the battery life will not be affected.

Deep discharge of lead-acid battery will cause permanent damage to the battery. Once discharged, if the battery cannot be charged and recovered in a short time, the battery will be scrapped immediately. That is to say, part of the battery capacity can be recovered after full length charging, and the battery life and reliability will be greatly reduced.
